About the reader
My initial start to reading, that I remember, is first grade 'reading time.' Everyone in the class would have to read something for a required period of time. Elementary school by far was the time of my life where I did the most amount of reading. After first grade and immediately into second grade the reading continued. I would read often throughout elementary school because of my schools policy, but once I got into middle school the mandatory reading policy ended and the large amount of reading I engaged with ended. I still continued to read on my own, I got more involved with books that have a historical base or argue policy. Arguably, more boring books. I typical read on the weekends or whenever I find the time. Often when I read its usually in my living room on my couch, where I can read peacefully and comfortably. Some of my favorite genre is history, it never used to be history until a few years ago when I started to enjoy and read more in-depth historically inspired books. I believe that I find these books more interesting due to the more advanced learning or greater scope of knowledge. One of my favorite books, "What we Knew: Terror, Mass Murder, and Everyday life in Nazi Germany," by Eric Johnson and Karl-heinz Reuband. The book gives a new light from the perspective of ordinary German Citizens. I thoroughly enjoyed the new perspective and historical context it provided me. I enjoy historical books, even fiction as long as their is some historical element, because it makes me relate to the story somehow. When I read a historical book it gives me a new knowledge and it makes the book to me somewhat , in comparison to a science fiction story or some other story that does not connect with me. Even though I tend to stick with the history genre, I also like other non-fiction and even some fiction stories. The only genre that I can not enjoy is science fiction. I think the elements to the stories have no connection to my life and I find science fiction books more confusing, I never read science fiction books if possible. Throughout my life I have read a lot of books and I believe that they have been one of the biggest teachers in my life, providing me with a new knowledge experience.
